Regeneration, the official magazine for the newly federated Marxist Center collectives, is calling for article submissions.
In December of 2018 the Marxist Center collectives gathered in Colorado Springs and spent hours and days debating, voting, and networking. Comrades were made, organizing skills were shared, and items were debated and voted on (including the unanimous adoption of this magazine). At the top of the agenda was the conversation on the Points of the Unity, it was only after hours of debate that the assembled parties finally voted in favor of adopting the present Points of Unity Document. The weeks since have seen various aspects hailed and criticized in turn, as could only be expected after such a vigorous and at points sharp debate. In the spirit of open democratic debate, the Regeneration Editors would like to open our platform for further introspection. We invite contributors, both from within the Marxist Center and adjacent organizations and organizers, to choose an item from the Points of Unity and expound on it. What was done well? What needs to be revised? And what needs to be discarded?
In keeping with the grounded, base-building approach of our organization we encourage these articles to place an equal (if not outsized) emphasis on the practical implications and applications of these principles. In other words, how do these principles reflect and impact the on-the-ground experience of members of marginalized identities, workers, and organizers in your community?
These conversations will be important for setting the stage for the next convention, the future of the organization, and the agenda of the revolutionary Left.
